CineBack® for Sony a7R IV

Turn your Sony a7R IV into a cinema camera with CineBack® Version 2!

NOTE! The Sony a7R IV has a fixed tilt screen so the screen will be block by CineBack®. Use Info Display to view the menu on an external monitor over HDMI. 

CineBack® is a camera rig that bolts onto the back of your camera giving you tons of mounting options, power choices and other features that you can learn about in the video and description below.

This version of CineBack® is compatible with 7 different camera bodies including the a1 II, a1*, a9 III, a7 IV, a7S III,  a7R V and a7R IV*. Just add one of the cages mentioned below and you have a cinema camera!

Required Gear

You only need one thing to get CineBack® to work with your A7 series camera and that is a cage. Check the compatibility list below for more information.

Optional Gear

The XLR Extension Kit is compatible with this CineBack® if you have the a7 IV and a7S III and want to use the Sony XLR-H1 XLR Handle Unit. This setup requires the SmallRig Adapter Plate for Sony FX30/FX3 XLR Handle as well as one of these cages: SmallRig 3667B for the a7 IV or the SmallRig 2999 cage for the a7S III.

For camera power, you can use our right angle USB-C cables to power your camera via USB-C PD (power delivery) from one of the two USB-C jacks on CineBack®.

Alternatively, you can power the camera from the D-Tap jacks on CineBack®. We've used the Alvin's Cable version as well as the Kondor Blue cable without issue.
